Our Methodology
How Orinthia Reading Circles Are Structured
Reading in Advance
Participants receive the session reading pack one week ahead. They arrive having already engaged with the material at their own pace.
Guided Discussion
The facilitator opens with vocabulary clarification, then steers the group through a structured discussion. Questions from participants shape the direction.
Reflection Period
Weeks pass between sessions. Participants encounter the vocabulary in daily life — on CPF statements, in scheme correspondence — and return with sharper questions.
Materials to Keep
Every programme includes a physical take-home — workbook, binder, or folder system — designed to remain useful long after the sessions end.
Programme 1
CPF Landscape Reading Group
4 sessions · 2 months · Groups of 12 · S$165
A reading-circle format that introduces working adults to the structure of Singapore's Central Provident Fund. The programme covers the Ordinary, Special, MediSave, and Retirement accounts; the contribution mechanics across different employment categories; and the various withdrawal milestones that apply across age bands.
Sessions are informational only. The facilitator walks the group through public scheme documentation and answers vocabulary questions. Participants are not given advice on how to manage their CPF balances. The programme aims to make official CPF communications readable rather than opaque.
- 4 sessions across 2 months — one fortnight apart
- Personal reference workbook included
- Scheme glossary for ongoing personal use
- Class size capped at 12 participants
- Reading packs sent one week before each session
Programme 2
Pre-Retirement Reading Circle
6 sessions · 6 months · Groups of 8 · S$420
A six-month reading circle for adults aged 45 to 58 who want a thoughtful introduction to retirement-stage personal finance vocabulary. Each month covers a single topic — household cashflow reshaping, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme framework, annuity vocabulary, drawdown concepts, charitable giving approaches, and family money conversations.
The circle meets monthly on a Saturday morning over filter coffee in a small group of eight. Reading material is supplied in advance; sessions consist of guided discussion. The format is relaxed by design — the aim is to make each monthly session something participants want to attend, not something they attend out of obligation.
- 6 monthly Saturday morning sessions
- Leather-look reading binder provided
- Monthly worksheets for personal notes
- Private cohort newsletter after each session
- Maximum 8 participants — discussion-led
Programme 3
Document Organisation Programme for Personal Finance
4 sessions · Evening format · Skills-based · S$780
A practical four-session evening programme on organising the paperwork of mid-life and pre-retirement personal finance. Participants work through bank correspondence, insurance documents, CPF statements, mortgage paperwork, and personal records. The programme covers structured filing approaches, digital document naming conventions, and the right questions to ask qualified professionals about specific document types.
The programme is purely informational and skills-based. No professional advice is offered. It is designed for adults who want to put their household paperwork in better order — not those seeking advice on what to do with the content of those documents.
- 4 evening sessions (weekday evenings)
- Printed organising workbook included
- Digital naming template files provided
- Reusable physical folder system included
- Skills-based format — no financial advice

None of our programmes include referrals to insurance companies, fund managers, or financial advisers. No session includes product presentations of any kind.
Annual Material Review
Reading packs are reviewed before each programme cycle against current CPF, SRS, and MediShield Life documentation. Out-of-date content is corrected before distribution.
Qualified Facilitators Only
All sessions are led by adult educators with formal qualifications in curriculum design or adult learning. No session is facilitated by someone with a financial product sales background.
Clear Withdrawal Process
Programme withdrawal terms are stated clearly in our Terms & Conditions. Participants who cannot continue for personal reasons are handled with consideration and on an individual basis.
